CRT2235 Using the DET literacy toolkit

Supporting students to develop their literacy skills is a critical part of teaching in every subject area across all year levels, whether you are working as a CRT or in an ongoing or contract role. It is especially useful for CRTs to have a bank of ideas and resources to support students.  In this session an experienced and innovative English teacher will outline some strategies, activities and resources that all teachers can use through the DET literacy toolkit. The toolkit is described by DET as, 'practical advice and high impact teaching practices that improve outcomes in reading, writing and speaking and listening'. There are three levels in the toolkit, early childhood primary and secondary. This session will explore the resources available for primary and secondary students.
