Secondary literacy – engagement activities for all subjects
Secondary literacy and numeracy
Description:
Supporting students in a secondary setting to develop their literary skills is a critical part of teaching for every subject area. It is especially useful for a Casual Relief Teacher to have a bank of ideas and resources to support students regardless of the subject being taught. This session will outline some strategies, activities, and resources aimed at enhancing secondary literacy across all subjects. The focus of this presentation will be on practical resources for teaching reading and writing. Participants will explore engaging activities that promote reading and writing from an experience literacy teacher that can be adapted to provide support in all subject areas. Join us to discover how to empower students as confident readers and writers while enhancing their comprehension and communication skills across the curriculum.
