In this 30 minute session, Casual Relief Teachers will explore the steps of assessment within the context of the Victorian Curriculum P-10, with a specific focus on understanding progression points. The national curriculum published by ACARA is administered by the VCAA in Victorian schools. This session is designed for teachers seeking to enhance their understanding of how the curriculum is implemented, the definition of progression points and how this relates to the requirement to produce student reports. An experienced teacher will explore the foundational principles of assessments to gauge student progress and inform classroom instruction. Emphasis will be placed on unpacking the progression points outlined in the Victorian Curriculum P-10 across various subject areas and year levels. CRTs will explore effective assessment in relation to the progression points in the curriculum. Topics covered include formative and summative assessment techniques, differentiation strategies, and utilising assessment data to drive instructional decision-making. Participants in this session will gain a deeper understanding of assessment within the Victorian Curriculum P-10 framework, equipped with the tools and knowledge to foster student growth and achievement effectively.
