Understanding and supporting students with dyslexia
Dyslexia
Description:
Students with dyslexia will encounter difficulties with reading and spelling, and left unsupported may struggle with reading comprehension and vocabulary development. This will impact on the student’s learning capability across all areas of the curriculum. Casual Relief Teachers can create a learning environment and use instructional practices that maximise the learning outcomes for all students, those with and without dyslexia. This session will look at dyslexia through the Response to Intervention framework and explore strategies at each of the three tiers of support. The course will enhance your understanding of dyslexia and will provide tips on assisting these students. This session will be tailored to cater for Casual Relief Teachers.
