Indigenous agency, voice and reconciliation - EC to Year 12

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander curriculum

Description:
Australians are engaged in a conversation about Reconciliation and the Voice to Parliament. All teachers from early childhood to Year 12, including those working as Casual Relief Teachers need to have an informed view about this conversation. There is a professional obligation on teachers to promote Reconciliation (VIT standard 2.4, VEYLDF and Victorian F-10 curriculum). It is a conversation that we should be prompting with our children, our students and our community. The conversation will have an impact on the lives of our children and students now and into the future. In this session, Dr Al Fricker, will present a view on indigenous agency, voice and reconciliation. The session will provide you with further knowledge to engage in this important conversation, and support you to meet your professional responsibilities.
