Description:
Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in the early years can impact how a child thinks, feels, interacts with others, and experiences their environment. Children with ASD can present very differently, this is why autism is described as a spectrum. In this session, a Speech Pathologist and Occupational Therapist, will share their knowledge and understanding of ASD traits and share strategies she uses to help children, their families and teachers develop their social skills and regulate themselves.

  • 1.5.2 Differentiate teaching to meet the specific learning needs of learners across the full range of abilities
  • 1.6.2 Strategies to support full participation of learners with disability
