Description:
All teachers are engaged in the moderation process, whether formally as part of senior school assessments or informally across a team of teachers. It is helpful for teachers to know and understand the principles of moderation practices that are used to make assessments comparable in a standards-referenced system. It is also helpful understand the benefits of moderation for improving teaching practice, for assessing student work and reporting accurately, clearly and respectfully to parents and carers. At the end of this session, participants should feel more confident about engaging in formal and informal moderation processes in their own school and externally.
